Why should it be scary? It's not like life has that high value anyway, and the rat society isn't that compex that some other rats will grieve over the dead one.
I would have liked it to be less painful (there's no point in making it painful if you're not a sadist), but I didn't have the means to do a clean job.

Also, I won't deny that hunting feels good. Sadly overpowering something so stupid is quite insipid.
